The golden hour

Last evening I waited for the golden hour for a chance to take a pre sunset shot across the bay.

I purchased a second hand Indonesian hand printed kaftan when visiting Totnes last Friday, which I dyed on Saturday a beautiful shade of yellow.

The golden hour and my yellow kaftan worked better than I could have imagined. I’m so happy with these shots. I wasn’t sure which one I liked the most so I’ve posted them all.

I didn’t want to leave the water’s edge as the sea was so calm and the gentle wind so warm. I went for a swim after sunset with Ginger and Bird before heading home in the dark.

Tired, I headed to bed, only to be woken by Bird every couple of hours as she’d drunk lots of salty sea water so was crying as she needed to head out for a walk. It’s very quiet in my town at 1am, 2:30am and 4am, we had the park to ourselves.

Today I’ve been paddle boarding with Seb on the river Dart. We paddled for a few hours, headed straight for the cherry shortbread after, followed by a cauliflower pasty and some cider. It’s been a completely perfect day so far, but I’m in need of 40 winks…
