How long will I go?

I don’t know why so many women choose to cut off their hair as they age. Having long hair is the best time saving decision ever! I have achieved my goal of silver bun. How long will I go? I just don’t know.

Having natural silver hair (especially as mine is so white on the sides) makes my hair appear sparse. It is considerably thinner on my temples, which is normal for my age.

To give the illusion of thicker hair, I sometimes use some dry shampoo spray on the sides. As the shampoo spray is white, my hair looks dense and my scalp less visible. It’s magical!

I’ve been in my social bubble today with some of my best friends, Patrick & JL. After a vegetable feast, we drank too many glasses of Pimms and I now need a snooze. I’m not even sure this post makes sense ? and I’ve read it 10 times ?

How good is it to finally catch up with friends and see other familiar humans..? Necklace: @_jasperrocks ?

I’m grateful

In the next month (or so) I will be entering my 53rd year. Which means miles travelled around the sun or my total life score is 4,926,657,771 – how incredible is that? Of all the ways there are to die, I’ve avoided each and every one so far.

The world is spinning, orbiting around the sun, travelling 92,955,807 miles
per year, but it makes no noise, or we simply cannot hear it. Something I’m still pondering…

I’ve had; scrapes, accidents, incidents, illnesses, diseases, infections, impacts, abrasions. I’ve laughed, I’ve screamed, I’ve cried. I’ve been lonely, loved, hurt and hugged. I’ve been helped and hindered, supported and opposed, treasured and discarded. We all have.
There have been so many highs and countless lows, but I’m still here and I am very grateful. Grateful for the wrinkles, the facial hair, the sun spots, the stretch marks the scars.
The journey so far has been worth it and I look forward to collecting many more wrinkles along the way.
Who else has decided to embrace their wrinkles?

Followed in the woods

A rare photo of me on my walks as I usually walk alone. Which reminds of a very funny story from earlier today….

Me “This amazing woman followed me yesterday, she’s a stunt woman, how cool is that?”
Husband ‘Why did she follow you?’
Me “Because of my story on bamboo clothing”
Husband ‘She followed you because of what you were wearing?’
Me “Yes, she loved my story”
Husband ‘So she lives in Brixham?’
Me “What? No, why would you think that?”
Husband ‘Because she followed you on your walk’

I couldn’t stop laughing.

The amazing woman is @chloedbruce I had serious envy reading her profile and discovering she is a stunt woman. Is there a job cooler than that? I don’t think so. You need to go check out her profile. She is strong, beautiful, talented and a very creative photographer. She has a new podcast which I will be checking out later today. I found her profile completely captivating, I think I watched every video, some more than once as she is so physically fit and strong – such balance!

And there’s me, in this pic with my muffintop in full view. I will never be as strong as Chloe, but it’s never too late to start exercising and taking care of your body. No matter your shape, get up, get out and get active!

These stunning leggings are from @famaraonline The founder of the company is an artist and uses her skills to create unique designs. These are called ‘Pause & Reflect’ I also have my eye on ‘Flamenco’. More photos of these soon!

The bra top from @bamboo_clothing is so soft and comfy. More photos of this soon.

Release the Rottweiler

Today is a good day! My inner Rottweiler was released in pursuit of a large unpaid client invoice which is causing me sleepless nights. I’ve mentioned it in my stories and it’s been making me very anxious.

I find it amusing when C level executives try to intimidate me with their title. I am a business owner, CEO of my own business, so there’s little which ruffles my feathers or makes me feel the slightest bit inferior …… to anyone. We are a small business, offering our clients exceptional project delivery and customer service. But a service is invisible, unlike a delivery of 50 desks which you can clearly see sitting in your office. So, in difficult times like those we are in today, payments are delayed because there is no product we can retrieve and little we can do to recover a service already provided.

But having worked my way up from the bottom, in companies of all sizes from many nations, I know how companies work and what scares the pants off them.

Mr Big Cheese CEO is no longer wearing his pants today.

Everyone takes a poop. Nobody is better than me. We all entered the world in the same way and nobody is getting out alive. I find intimidation amusing. As long as my life isn’t in danger, I do enjoy a bit of calm but forceful confrontation to defend my interests.

I look sweet and kind, which of course I am to a point… But I hate people trying to take advantage of me. That’s when the Rottweiler appears.
I learned these skills with age. Another reason ageing rocks!

Changing faces

Changing faces.

Wrinkles, age spots, scars and broken thread veins now adorn my face. Gone are the thick eyebrows and blemish free tight-fitting skin.

I receive many messages from women who hate their changing face. Slowly melting whilst their hair invades the space below their hairline, leaving it ever thinner on top.
My eyebrows need a pencil, my skin needs a good foundation, a swipe of lipstick, a wave of the magic wand of mascara, a bit of blush and dab of highlighter and I’m ready for the day. Happy with the new face which has a little more skin each year. I’m certainly not complaining, I’ve had a lot of use out of this face, it’s had quite a lot of wear and tear!

Don’t you think it’s incredible how you can guess a person’s age so easily? Most will guess within 1 year or 2 a person’s age. That’s how I know it’s a natural process I cannot and will not fight. I’m not attempting to turn back a clock which is naturally and happily advancing forward, day by day, giving me more wonderful days on this earth.

My grandma wore floral dresses (never trousers), had soft silver hair, her eyes were a little cloudy, she was short, squidgy and a soft pillow when I needed somewhere to rest my head. I adored her, and I want to be like her. She had a marshmallow belly, bingo wing arms and wore an industrial strength bra – with a stash of a folded paper tissues tucked inside, always ready to wipe away a tear when needed.

She was perfect.
